Last week, before I got sick, this kid was going CRAZY trying to find his way out. And I say "trying to find his way out" because there's no other explanation (at least in MY head) for the stuff he was doing, and for how frequently he was doing it. Unless the little bastard was flipping himself back to breech... which I'll find out at the OB today if he did or not.
This movement though, it was CRAZINESS - unlike ANY other we've had since I started feeling him move. This wasn't just the regular old KICKS and SHOVES, this wasn't just a mild SHIFTING positions from left to right, and it wasn't even the usual SHOVING of my ribs out of his way because apparently they ARE in his way on a daily basis - this was a FULL-ON gymnastics routine EVERY TIME.
Like this kid wasn't just doing some simple SOMERSAULTS - somersaults to him are child's play! This kid would START OFF with a cartwheel that FINISHED with a somersault, then quickly move into a forward pike roll, transition to a back handspring, throw in a series of roundoffs, then go back to the back handspring a few MORE times just because he COULD. Either that or my little gymnast isn't such a gymnast AT ALL, but instead is a bit of a slow learner and just keeps ramming his head EVERY which way, into EVERY which corner, hoping, "Is THIS the way out? Nope. Maybe THIS way? Nope. THIS way? Nope... nope... nope..." again and again and again...
In the last 3 days though, this has all slowed down. While he had a good little routine last night (only about 30 seconds though), the CONSTANT repetition of routines appears to be done. So either he's finally figured out that he has no freaking CLUE how to get out (and is willing to wait at least the 1.5 more weeks he's supposed to), or me being sick has taken a toll on him as well, and he's decided that whole dream he had of being a famous gymnast? Well, it's just too damn much work. Plus those tights are really NOT flattering on all body types...

If he flips back there are some crazy excercise that involve laying on your back with your butt up in the air on a chair. Your husband is supposed to hold a flash light between your legs. Hey I don't know if it works but I sure laughed at the pictures of my niece doing it.
You are getting so close! Those last couple weeks took forever it seemed. Hopefully he figures his way out soon.
I can just picture Tiny B just doing cartwheels inside of you!
SO close! Eek!
Ooooh we had gymnastics too all part of him getting ready! xoxo
Holy poo, 1.5 weeks to your due date?! Man, you are almost there! That is amazing!
You're already calling him "little bastard."
You are SO ready for parenthood.
Gotta love the interior gymnastics routine...
My youngest two did full blown Tae Kwon Do routines inside of me. I swear to God my belly looked like the creature from Alien was going to come out of it.
I always kind of wished the pumpkin did that whole alien trying to escape routine so I could really see the movement. But alas- I missed out!
So close! Try to enjoy the last week(s) & sleep as much as you can!
I can't believe you are this close!!! I'm SO excited for you!
I've heard that movement generally slows down towards the end as they run out of room to move as much. There's no way that kid was trying to get out of that cozy home you've made for him!
Athletic like his mom?
