Things are still happening, stuff is still going on, but it's all still coming and going... grrrr.
As for the "grrrr", it's not so much being induced that annoys me anymore - because the end goal is getting him out safe, and if inducing is what we need to do, then that's what we'll do. It's moreso the idea that we'll have to wait this ALL out at the hospital, for hours and hours, and hours and hours, and MORE hours.
I really liked the idea of doing MOST of this at home, and only going to the hospital for the last FEW hours.
Although I'm thinking that box of Toffiffee and Friends DVD set is now going to come in handy. I married me a smart one.

They have a Tim Hortons in the lobby too. Just in case you need a dutchie.
Oh yeah, I hear you on wanting to wait it out at home rather than at the hospital. You still have some time, hopefully things kick into gear before you need to pull out the big guns. Good luck!
I was induced at nearly 41 weeks due to health issues with J, and it really, really, really wasn't bad. I swear. Having my Ipod made things easier, I think.
I was opposed to being induced but with Pre-e at the end I was induced at 38w4d and I had the best induction! It really was amazing, and the pitocin contractions weren't nearly what i expected, I loved every second of my birth! :)
Hope he pops out soon, c'mon buddy it ain't so bad out here.
Acupuncture!!! No waiting at the hospital for the induction to take effect. Seriously. It works.
Hang in there lady! I can only imagine how you are feeling right about now because I was feeling way overcooked at 40 wks 4 days. Hopefully things are already progressing and your next post will have some adorable pictures included.
Can't wait!
Hang in there honey - you've still got some time right? He might surprise you!
C'mon Tiny B! We wanna love your face! :-)
As a side note, I was induced...& my body kicked into gear in a matter of just a few hours. It was a great experience thx to great staff. While I ended up having to have a c-section, it had nothing to do with the induction. So, IF you have to be induced, it wasn't bad at all for me. So I will hope the same for you. (Although, I also opted for an epidural which made a huge difference for me)
I was induced with my twins and had them less than two hours later.
I'm thinking of you, your hubby and Tiny B. :)
I felt the same way...
I hope Tiny B makes a move before you have to make a choice!
Good luck...I hope Tiny B decides to make his appearance soon.
Yes - you've got yourself a keeper!
Surely after all the waiting you have done at home, Tiny B won't make you wait that much longer in the hospital. If worse comes to worse, at least you have Friends in your back pocket.
I second the acupuncture vote. I went into labor 34 hours after I had it done. Dr said if baby is ready, 70% of women will go into labor within 48 hours.
OK, more detail on the acupuncture approach. I went into labor about 14 hours after my treatment. My practitioner said it can take more than one treatment sometimes but that it's a good approach because it won't start labor unless the baby is indeed ready. It just gives him a nudge. That was important to me. My practitioner didn't say this, but I heard that if acupuncture is going to work, it will usually work with in 24 hours.
Come On Tiny B!!! We NEED to meet you...
xxx
Don't count on labor being long and drawn out just because of induction! ;-)
I was induced at 41wks because of a drop in amniotic fluid- pit was started at 8:30 am and Brynna was born at 1:39 pm! It wasn't terrible either. I didn't even start feeling contractions until I was in transition around 12:30- 1ish.
Hang in there! I can't wait to hear the birth story! :)
I wanted to do the most at home too, but I had to be induced with the 1st due (due to sudden extreme high blood pressure) and then the last one my water broke after the version.
You are doing the right thing - keeping in mind it's all about getting him out safe. We all have our "perfect" birth stories in our heads but what we don't realize, especially with our first baby, it rarely goes that way. Just go with the flow and allow your heart to feel that THIS IS your birth story. Plus, I'm glad I had my labor at the hospital because I was totally unprepared for what it was realy like, even after reading so many stories.
You are doing fantastic mommy. Just keep it up. I love you!
Either way, you're almost there, right??? The hospital isn't a lot of fun, but in the long run it will seem like your stay was really quick.
