Home. That's where we are. Home.
And while there's definitely GOOD things about it - like our own couch, good wine at an affordable price, my MONSTROUS crop of dahlias, and of course comforts like actual CHOICE in clothing, there's BAD things about it too.
And when I say bad, I don't mean bad like REALLY bad, just bad like REAL-WORLD bad. Things like a newly created to-do list that's a MILE long, things like being awake at 7am after going to bed at 4am (cuz our bodies are still 15 hours ahead) and KNOWING that's gonna be a pattern for at least the rest of the week (if not longer), things like the stupid Synarel I just started for the FET we're doing, and things like that big old JOB thing we have to return to.
So all in all, I'm in just kinda a WEIRD place. A place that has a whole LOTTA posts piling up in her head from all the AMAZING things we got to see and do, but a place that's not going to RUSH to post them all, cuz out of everything I got out of this 24-day vacation, the biggest one is before we'd left, I'd been making EVERYTHING I do a job, I'd been making EVERYTHING I do an item on the to-do list, and mostly, I'd been making EVERYTHING dauntingly important to do RIGHT AWAY. And 24 days off, well it took me back to a place where things are slower, where things happen as they will, where not EVERYTHING has to be done TODAY - it can be done when I GET to it.
But when I DO get to it, I think it'll be over a Cuba Libre or two, cuz that was THE drink of the trip, and that'll be THE drink that takes me back to that happy little place called our vacation. It's what we drank when we sat in Siem Reap, watching the world go by, wondering if we really COULD just pack up, leave everything behind, and start a business there. It's what we drank when we sat in Bangkok, debating the potential issues and opportunities of ACTUALLY going to see a ping-pong show. It's what we drank when we sat in Railay Beach, hiding out from our sunburn, taking bets on who the next sunburn victims would be. It's what we drank while we reminisced over EVERY LITTLE fabulous moment we'd already had, and fascinated ahead to EVERY LITTLE fabulous moment still to come.

So glad that you're back safe & (somewhat) sound. I know what it's like to have to get back into the work group after a week's vacation... can't imagine how hard it must be after 24 days!
I agree with luna, looking forward to hearing your stories - you know - when you get a chance!
Glad you are home safe and sound...sorry that it is back to the grind. That sucks.
I think *I* have missed you most of all!
Welcome back, my friend. Can't wait to hear more. Would love to share a Cuba Libre with you and toss about the idea of chucking it all for a life as an expat.
welcome home, chicklet! i can't wait to hear more about your trip, and about all of the fabulous moments....both from your holiday and of those to come.
Have 24 days really gone that fast?! Seems you were just preparing to head outta town. Selfishly speaking ('cause that's what infertiles do best right? -- get all selfish! LOL), I'm glad you're back
Welcome home, Chicklet! I hope the return to the real world goes ok.

But sorry about the Synarel. I think I'd much rather inject myself than snort.
