Pamela Jeanne over at Coming2Terms did a very sweet thing the other week, she nominated me for this - the Pink Rose Award. While I can't put what it is into words as eloquently as Kymberli did, the general idea is you should give it to those who inspire you or need to be inspired, to those who have encouraged you, or who need encouragement themselves. Which is mighty MIGHTY cool that PJ would consider me for it, cuz there isn't anyone I think more suited for the award than her herself.
So to go full circle, and do this properly, there's a few chickas I'd like to give this to too. Some in blogland, some not:
- My sis. I'm pretty sure I freak her out with how completely DISINTERESTED I am with any and ALL phone conversation lately, but she's been very VERY good to me through all this crap. She gives me encouragement in ways I didn't think a person who HADN'T gone through this could. She deserves some encouragement back if I could get over myself for even a second, and stop being such a freakin' shit.
- The bestest friend, who last week when I scored Madonna tickets let me rant and rave about it without for a SINGLE moment EVER asking me how I was doing. Cuz she's been here done this, and knows I don't want to talk about it in IRL just yet. She's THAT smart. And THAT fabulous.
- OliveGirl. There's not a lot to say about OliveGirl that she couldn't say BIGGER or BETTER, but regardless, she's a never-ending source of both encouragement and inspiration to me. She NEVER fails to crack me up with the inappropriate things that come out of her mouth, and never fails to remember MY crap right along with hers.
- And last but not least, Kim. A longtime blog friend, Kim's going through some very scary stuff, and needs everyone to think positive thoughts for her, her husband, and mostly little Landry, who was born early, and isn't allowed out of the NICU.
PJ, over at Infertility on the Brain, has tagged me for a meme. Truthfully, until I read her post, I had NO IDEA what the hell a meme even was, but reading it, and doing it, well it was a little entertaining and right NOW, entertaining is a good thing. So here goes.
Four Things I Did Ten Years Ago (1998)
- Started thinking that marriage idea I'd had and ACTED on at 21, wasn't my wisest move.
- Switched jobs to a dot com (that later went dot BOMB) where I spent the majority of my time swilling booze with the 3 young (and HOT) managing partners. Cuz you know, I was the young hot UNHAPPILY married one who was willing to do that.
- Bought meself a new car - a brand new smoking hot red VW Beetle, that I still have, and LOVE, to this day.
- Probably got drunk, cuz I don't remember a lot about ten years ago.
Four Things I Did Five Years Ago (2003)
- Told the husband (the good one), who wasn't THEN the husband, or even the BOYFRIEND for that matter, that I liked him. I had to bury my drunken face in some CARPET to get up the courage actually SAY it, but it paid off, cuz then we made out til 4am. And now he's the husband. The good husband. The husband I should've had all along.
- Wrote EXTREMELY dirty emails back and forth with the husband, who wasn't THEN the husband but WAS the boyfriend, while he was away with his family at Xmas and I was with mine (sorry mum!).
- Went to Spain and Portugal with two girlfriends and built up SO much dirt on them they can't EVER do anything bad to me ever EVER again.
- Probably got drunk, cuz I don't remember a lot about five years ago either.
Four Things I Did Yesterday (Friday)
- Dyed my brunette hair what I'd consider a very VERY cool red. No OliveGirl, not Ashlee Simpson red, more toned down than that, but red. Woot!
- Had some drinks on a patio and watched a co-worker pull her GIRLS out in ways I didn't know she could. Holy mamasita cleavage!
- Brought home some new dahlias to plant.
- Worked. Bah.
- America's Next Top Model. It's crap and I LOVE it anyway.
- How I Met Your Mother. It's the only sitcom on worth watching. It makes me laugh OUT LOUD, which is a rare thing with tv shows these days.
- Lost. "Love" is a strong word for it these days, cuz it's gone WAY downhill. But I'm stuck, and I can't stop.
- Sin Cities. Seriously, you HAVE to watch this guy! You will laugh your ASS off at the insane shit he'll do.
- Drink red wine.
- Poke the husband in the bum EVERY SINGLE TIME he bends over. Not cuz I like actually poking him in the bum, but cuz it annoys him, and annoying him is fun.
- Watch my garden change. I'm a complete and TOTAL garden-dork.
- Make other people laugh, particularly the husband - partly cuz I annoy him so much, I at least owe him some laughs too, and partly cuz he makes me laugh too, and there's NOTHING more charming than a man who makes you laugh.

Ya mean you didn't get drunk yesterday? :)
You can add me to the list of people whom you make laugh. You have a great sense of humor!
Sisters rock.
I had your 1998 a few years earlier...
Porno Valley? Never heard of it. ANTM - also a guildy pleasure of mine. I didn't think they were all that pretty in the last cycle. Thanks for passing the Rose along! I added in links to the posts about your sister and friend on my Rose Garden list. :)
It is so great to have someone with you who makes you laugh!
I heart your meme! :)
I agree about LOST; I was a little disappointed with the season finale, but I still LOVE the show.
You made me laugh today, and for that I am grateful!
Great stuff. As for the four things you like to do, can't wait to do 1 and 4 with you as I watch expectantly for number 2...
p.s. I took you up on your recommendation. originally wasn't sure about adding the subhead in my title, but you convinced me.
Hooray for garden dork-dom!
I laughed too -- and seeing as how I don't laugh enough I should probably visit you more!
Pam
