While emotional and uncomortable, the retrieval was actually pretty easy, considering as OliveGirl put it, "I had a NEEDLE punctured INTO my ovaries VIA my cha-cha". Yea, it wasn't what I'd call FUN, and yea I WINCED here and there, but overall, not so bad.
And the EMOTIONAL part? Well that was actually a GOOD thing. They got NINE eggs! NINE! Not SIX like my first count, not EIGHT which dropped to FOUR like my second count, but NINE. Nine. Nine. NINE!
So yea, now we wait to see how many are actually QUALITY, and we wait to see how many actually FERTILIZE, but after the last few days, we're just thankful that NINE came out to give us a little hope back, and even a little humor back.

"Right backatcha husband. Sure doesn't feel like one though eh?"
"Meh, we're just breaking tradition right? No biggy. First anniversary, paper. Second anniversary, cotton. Third anniversary, spanking it into a cup!"

As for the anniversary, ok, not the usual way to spend it BUT if you just think of it as 'making a baby.' Well, that's loads more romantic !

Take care of yourself and take it easy. I think the most difficult part of retrieval recovery is the stupid gas pain in the shoulder.
