How Infertility Changes Points

“So you want me to buy my drugs at Shopper’s Drug Mart or Safeway? Shopper’s means we get Optimum points, Safeway means we get Air Miles. Which do you prefer?”

“Optimum points are better value, go with those.”

“But what if I go to Safeway on a Double Air Miles day? We could get like DOUBLE the Banana Republic gift certificates [for those miles]! And you KNOW how much I love Banana!”

“No, what I mean is Optimum points are like 1 point for EVERY dollar spent. Air Miles you have to spend like TWENTY BUCKS to get 1 mile. Optimum points get us more.”

“So it’s NOT that you care more about buying tampons and hair gel than Banana stuff, it’s about getting more stuff in GENERAL?”

“Yea. We should at least GET something out of all this bullshit shouldn’t we?”

“Uh… we might get a kid?”

“Oh yea, right. Well, shop at Shopper’s anyway.”

lol, we have the same discussions on which credit card to use so we can get the most points. Might as well get something for all this!

Ahhh the practicalities of IF. There are so many of them and all are equally not exciting. I hope that whatever points you opt for, you get something great for yourself out of it!

;-) Go for the optimum points. (And yes, you do deserve some sort of door prize for all the cash being expended on drugs!)

lol. We have the same exact conversations, except that he never scans his discount cards and I nearly have to beat him with the stupid cards to remind he that we have them in the first place. :)

You're too funny! We used Safeway for prescriptions because the dispensing fee is lower, but we got a lot of airmiles! Good for a night out at the movies!
