The Bloorb Barn

Since somewhere in my teens, I've always wanted to write cards. Greeting cards. Sounds like an odd dream for a teenager to have, but that's what it was, and what apparently, it still is.

The thing is, I've always liked cards - all types of cards. Whether I'm giving them or receiving them, I'm all about finding the original ones, the different ones, the ones that really SAY SOMETHING [helpful], the ones that are NOT the cheesy ones. Yet no matter where I look, the selection is limited, the cheesiness abounds.

And with infertility, I'm finding yet again, the selection is limited. Thus, the odd (and old) dream resurfaced, and the Bloorb Barn was born. Admittedly I'm copying the ever-brilliant Mel - something we've emailed about and she ever-so-generously has encouraged my doing - but off I go, into the land of selling out. Hopefully you'll forgive my doing so, and hopefully the bit of money made can go towards my IVF.

Not everything I want to create is in there yet, but slowly, I'm hoping it'll all come together. And slowly, maybe I can HELP OUT a little too - 10% of all net profits will go to the Infertility Awareness Association of Canada. The rest, as noted above, goes to IVF fortunately and unfortunately.

PS. If you hate that I've done this, I DO wanna know. I'm TERRIFIED to know, but I WANNA know. Since I posted this, I'm all-consumed and worried about losing my fabulous community - about losing the amazing people supporting me who I've never even met. I'm checking back more than I usually do, and refreshing like crazy in an attempt to confirm to myself that you WON'T, in fact, run away. I'm hoping that instead you'll understand where this comes from - a little about filling a void, a little about indulging myself in something I've always wanted to do.

This post just popped up in my Bloglines and I had to say how awesome the crack whore one is! They're all great, but that one is hilarious!! Nicely done!

I think there really good :) are there any illustrations to go with the words?

No illustrations yet - I'm in no way, shape, or form artistic so thought I'd start with just words and see. I've got some brewing for t-shirts too, I just need to spend the time to do it.

I love them! I appreciate a good dose of snark and can really relate to these.

I am curious - why do you you think we would hate them? I think most of us have said those things, I know I have!

I commend you on doing this. Maybe this will be the start of a great greeting card line. And I will say I knew you when. . .

I was worried about you hating me for doing something in this blog other just venting and finding support:-(
