Ode to the Husband - Part Deux

I ain't got a lot to do right now but wait. Wait for the morphology call that doesn't SEEM to be coming (woohoo?), wait for the symptoms that are NOT actually symptoms, wait to fight myself from OBSESSING over the symptoms BEING or NOT BEING symptoms, and wait for it to be long enough to know anything.

But while I wait, I have me a very very good husband who waits along with me. Thus, part deux.
For all the crap I've put him through, and all the future crap I'm definitely going to keep putting him through (cuz I'm a psycho and that's what I do), well, he deserves to hear once in awhile that I DO know I'm crazy, and I DO know he puts up with a lot. But mostly I know that he doesn't really FEEL like he "puts up" with a lot, it's just me, and he CHOSE me, and all this craziness is just part of being married to me. Which (in code) means he LIKES the craziness(!!!). And that's one of the best parts of being married to him. The other parts? Well...

-For making me laugh with the retarded things you say and do. Like this and this and this and this and this, oh, and even this you bastard.

-For pretty much taking over all the cooking. All hail the BBQ King!

-For buying me flowers for no reason other than you knew you hadn't done it in awhile.

-For spanking it into a cup three times now.

-For taking pictures of everything surrounding the spanking including the room, the forms, the porno mags, the sink, the leather loveseat, and even the dreaded Door A.

-For skipping the photos of the ACTUAL spanking - thank you thank you thank you.

-For buddying up with Joan and taking part in IUI#2. Seriously dude, some husbands would NOT be cool enough to do that!

-For wanting to eat chocolate as often as I do.

-For that amazing rubber arm you have that I can twist so easily into having Strongbow and hot wings on a bright sunny patio instead of going to the gym as we really really should.

-For putting up with the fact that foreplay has become this.

-For putting up with the fact that when I'm all drunk and smoochy smoochy, it ain't really going anywhere cuz I'll pass out LONG before we get a chance to do anything about it.

-For letting me get you all riled up in hopes of producing a better donation in the spank-a-thon. For knowing it really ain't going anywhere and letting me do it anyway.

-For doing everything in your power to cheer me up when work really brings me down. For genuinely hating seeing me down, and wanting to do something about it.

-For making this summer one filled with memories of sitting on our balcony, sipping wine, just chatting and chatting and chatting until it's time for bed. No tv and flipping through stupidity, just real chatting.

-For still being able to chat with me endlessly, after three years of marriage.

-For being the one in the relationship who knows we've ACTUALLY been married three years, not four (oops), and that we've been together four years, not five (double oops).

-For putting up with me pointing out to your friends that YOU know how long we've been married better than I do - and taking the subsequent ribbing because of it.

-For STILL being the only person on this earth I'd want to face this with. For STILL being a believer, even if it's a little less-so.

You're right, sometimes I feel lucky to have D by my side through all of this shit. I couldn't imagine it being anyone else ('cause a lot of guys wouldn't put up w/ the nuttiness).

Great post!

What a great post! I so often forget to give G the credit he is due for putting up with my insanity, and trust me when I tell you he's put up with A LOT of it. :)

Great post! This whole thing would be virtually impossible without a good partner to share the load.

Oh Chicklet, that was beautiful. Of course your husband 'puts up with you' You are you, he did choose it!
I think the husbands do get a hard time. I wouldn't want to go on this journey with anyone else either (though I'd rather skip the journey altogether, but so would he) but I don't know if I've told him this.
Thank you for making me think xx

You do have a rockin' husband. But he definitely has a rockin' wife. Here's the martini and a toast to your husband :-)
