The miscellaneous spurts and blurbs of a [formerly infertile] new mama, living by the beach, with a husband who makes her laugh almost every single day.

Newbie Asks a Favour

Can I ask a favour? Can someone please tell me what the etiquette is with comments?

Because, when I get one, I get very excited, I go off to that person's site, I read pretty much everything they've ever written, and while I admit I'm looking for one that pushes a button, I'm always lucky enough to find one that pushes a button, so I comment there. Sorta a 'pay it forward' type of reaction...

But maybe I'm doing this all wrong. Maybe I'm supposed to respond to the comments I get in my comments?

I personally just simply go to that person's blog and then end up responding there - sooner or later. I don't think it's necessary to "thank" someone for their comment (although it is nice).

I do what you do! When I get a comment (I'm always happy) and I check out the sender's blog, and comment on a recent or a particularly touching post.

And I really appreciated your comments, even on an older post. Its nice to know that someone is going back to read things I've posted before.

Have a great weekend!

I think its always polite to reply either via email or on that persons blog. Even if you don't manage it right away, later is always better then never.

It's the English in me :)
